Slightly flummoxed....

I seriously cannot help that my lexical bank is far superior to some people and it irks me that I get grief for it. Yes, it does make me seem arrogant but at the end of the day, I'm better than you and you know it.

And oh good lord, why oh why do people insist on using the "of" rather than "have"?!?

"Of" is a preposition goddamit and the "V" sound of "should've", "could've", "would've" should really tip them of that "would've" is a contraction of "would have" but no. People INSIST on using "would of"

People -
Do not use "of" in the place of "have" after verbs such as "could", "should", "would", "might" and "must".

Don't even get me started on "may of"....
